I hope you can get on air (Doug Henwood's show? Chris Hedges?) Someone who's not a white male? Abby Martin? What is Sonali Kolhatkar doing these days? Dr. Melina Abdulla of BLM Grassroots? and talk about this.

Thank you for this in-depth, thoughtful work based on decades of involvement in and observation of movemrnts. I take it as constructive criticism for the movement at large (such as it is) and so appreciate the spirit with which it is offered. I hope others read you that way, as well.

I will be attending No Kings IV in Oct and want to leaflet. I want to address a different but analogous problem -- too many people think protest is organizing, or will in itself effect change if we just protest harder (again). The similarity is the problem of repetition; the difference is that No Kings has not had success outside of numbers of people showing up -- because that's all it demands.

What if any treatise -- that would fit on a 2-sided flier - would you recommend as political education 101 for mostly old white liberals to encourage and challenge them (us; OMG I am getting old and slipping into liberalism myself; I hate this marinade and jesus; I am already white...) to meet this moment and move to another level politically? I mean both to grasp the actual state of affairs and what it may imminently portend, and to step up our collective work, wherever we are?

It could even be one of yours.

I think of Betita Martinez' definition of White Supremacy. It is diagnostic, not prescriptive, but a missing piece for so many white libs. Or perhaps this is too academic and abstract.

I think of calling people to form small groups of trusted friends now if they don't already have them, agree to let no unknown persons come in, and start meeting for coffee and convo now, learning and practicing a bit of security culture, and finding common ground. We may all need our networks, points of unity and to know our limits and boundaries soon, no. Or perhaps this is too anarchist.

I think I had some Chris Hesges essay in mind but now I can't remember what it was. Rrrr.

Other readers, I welcome your thoughts, as well, realizing that the political education we need doesn't fit on a flyer (or even a single book). Just what's best for this crowd now. Thanks.
