I have nothing but respect for the Arab-American(most Lebanese and Palestinians who can vote in the US are Christian, BTW) community for the way they wielded their votes. They said they were going to punish the Democrats, and they DID.

They did what the Squad refused to do during Force the Vote, remember that? They did what Democratic voters have failed to do time after time--they showed the Democrats they are willing to withhold their votes from them, regardless of any potential consequences.

I think they were joined by millions of others who voted for Biden in 2020 but stayed home this year.

While all that is true, I doubt her position Palestine/Israel had much to do with her debacle in the Latino vote, where she barely edged out a majority. Had she even approached traditional Democratic margins with them, she may not have won Michigan (or possibly even Wisconsin), but she definitely would have won PA, and very possibly enough of the remaining 4 (all sun belt) swing states with significant Latino populations.

Had she articulated any coherently pragmaticlly compassionate policy,.we might have had a different outcome.

Sure, but isn't that apples and oranges? I think we can point to many different reasons she lost. The economy is #1. Gaza I think is another. The Latino vote is a third reason, but for different factors.

This guy writes about some of the cultural issues which radical liberal Idealists push and then spills his bourgeois beans about how his freedom and his family's freedom is dependent on other undocumented workers' unfreedom. Labour power is a commodity. Commodities are for sale. Too much of a commodity in the market, result: No Sale. The many problems associated with the commodification of the collective product of labour, produced by commodified labour power will not be solved by petitioning the Lord with prayer.

Read what this guy has to say and then read the comments below his article: Here's a sample, but there's more:

Which leads us to Latinos. Democrats, we are not Latinx or Latine; we are Latinos and Latinas. Stop trying to change our language and our culture. The Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous handling of the southern border was one of the major issues for most Americans. Americans in Chicago and around the U.S. watched how veterans and other homeless and needy citizens suffered as local governments spent billions for newly arrived migrants. Americans saw Trump secure the border without any congressional approval.

Seeing my undocumented family members, who have been in the U.S. for more than 20 years, work, pay taxes and buy their own homes with zero benefits, then watching millions of new migrants skip the line with government-funded help, only inflamed me and other Latinos like me. When my mother came to America as a single mother of two, she did not get any benefits. This election became personal. It was about my family!

My concerns go beyond just immigration. I am a U.S.-born Mexican American. We are the youngest demographic in the U.S. What matters to me and many Latinos like me are obtaining jobs, paying for the costs of living, buying a home, growing and helping our families, and making sure the American Dream is attainable and still alive. Over the last four years, all of that has become harder. If you think it hasn’t or haven’t felt it, consider yourself blessed. This situation clearly upset many other Latinos who broke from generational loyalty to Democrats.

Politics is about power, not morality. Identity politics was invented by conservative intellectuals who used race and nationalism as ideological battering rams to get the bourgeois into political power as the governing class of the political State of America. That the left adopted its own version of identity politics in the wake of the Civil Rights Movement, just guaranteed that political ignorance fanned by emotional appeals would maintain class rule by the few over the immense majority within a bourgeois democracy. I note that 18% of the Muslim identity politics went to Jill Stein. The political ignoramuses who voted for Trump, including the Islamists, will soon find out that MAGA translates into Bibi's, "Make the Israeli State Great Again".,

We've lived under the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie since the national liberation struggle of the late 18th century. According to latest vote counts, Harris has ended up with 72.4 million votes to Trump’s 75.6 million votes. Some landslide election victory. 😉 This was another victory for the ruling capitalist class and their allies in the landlord class. Conservatives have promised them tax cuts and tax cuts is what they'll get. Meanwhile, as the tariffs take hold, prices will rise. That's the way regressive sales taxes operate--we're all taxed at the same percentage under an equality of classes. We have faith that wage-slavery is freedom and the pecking order of chickens reflects human nature. This is the best of all possible worlds, Amen.

Btw, not to nitpick, but "ironic" is the wrong word to describe the Trump/GOP/MAGA lack of neo-con ideology.
